2. We Create Your Backup

Your dropbox folders or website files are packaged into a backup archive and encrypted using a strong, randomly generated key.

The backup is then written to a USB drive and verified.

Your USB drive is packaged and mailed directly to your address.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data safe in the mail?

Yes. Every backup is encrypted before it is written to the USB drive using AES-256 encryption and a randomly generated 25-character encryption key. The encryption key is never shipped. Anyone intercepting the drive would receive only the encrypted data.

Do I need to replace my current backup system?

No. Mail a Backup is designed to complement your existing backups by providing a physically detached copy stored outside your networked environment.

What types of websites are supported?

We currently support Linux-based websites with SSH access and MySQL databases.

How long does delivery take?

We ship direct via USPS from our data center in the Southeastern US.

Where should I store my USB drive?
